2nd Annual California Clean Tech Open

The awards ceremony for the 2nd Annual California Clean Tech Open was held October 29^th at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco.  For those of you who weren't there, it was quite a show! The CCTO is a business plan competition which awards the best new California start-ups within six specific categories:

Smart Power

Renewables

Air/Water & Waste

Energy Efficiency

Green Building, and

Transportation

Two North Bay companies were selected for the 2007 Finalists List.  Barefoot Motors, LLC, makers of a "green" electric all-terrain utility vehicle (based in Sebastopol) was a finalist in the Transportation Category.  1-Solar (of Rohnert Park), designer/producers of a low-priced long-life inverter for solar photovoltaic was the winner of the Renewables Category.  Their award includes "Start-up in a Box" consisting of $50K in cash and $50K of in-kind services for a total value of $100K!  Congratulations to both companies on their recent success.
