2nd Annual California Clean Tech Open

The awards ceremony for the 2nd Annual California Clean Tech Open was held October 29th at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco.  For those of you who weren't there, it was quite a show! The CCTO is a business plan competition which awards the best new California start-ups within six specific categories:

Smart Power

Renewables

Air/Water & Waste

Energy Efficiency

Green Building, and

Transportation

Two North Bay companies were selected for the 2007 Finalists List.  Barefoot Motors, LLC, makers of a "green" electric all-terrain utility vehicle (based in Sebastopol) was a finalist in the Transportation Category.  1-Solar (of Rohnert Park), designer/producers of a low-priced long-life inverter for solar photovoltaic was the winner of the Renewables Category.  Their award includes "Start-up in a Box" consisting of $50K in cash and $50K of in-kind services for a total value of $100K!  Congratulations to both companies on their recent success.
